This will simulate a sonotrode that's circular in cross-section, all sections on the same axis, with an arbitrary profile defined by a series of diameters and lengths.
Status (updated): Available since version 0.9.6.
Notes:
Analysis method will be Finite Element Analysis only; the large number of inputs makes a database impractical for this one.
The list of standard materials in SonoAnalyzer is currently rather sparse, but there is the option to put in any material properties you like as a user-defined material.
Alternatively if anyone would like to supply material data for other alloys I'd be happy to include it. All the standard materials are already stored online so once the online database is updated, every copy of the program would automatically download the updates.
I've had a request for hardcopy or other distributable output from the program - .pdf files, animated gif images etc. A good suggestion, thanks. watch this space...
I've had a request for the user's unit selection (Metric / Imperial / SI) to be persistent, ie. to remain unchanged after a program restart. This will be included in the next release.
I've had a couple of emails from people interested in analysing rectangular sonotrodes (eg. for plastic welding). It's something that's already on the longer-term ToDo list but with enough interest I may try to get this out sooner rather than later.
