SonoAnalyzer Pro - Status

For those people waiting patiently for the standalone "Pro" version of SonoAnalyzer, my apologies: It has taken a lot longer than I anticipated to prepare, with a huge amount of new code to develop and test. The good news is it's (finally) getting near to completion now and I expect to release the first test / beta version in August.

As a teaser, here's a screen-shot from the development version.

SonoAnalyzer Pro is superficially very similar to OE, and functions exactly the same when running OE models. The differences appear only on the new Pro models, for which:

  • The two green indicators marked "FEA" and "POST" (bottom left of the SonoAnalyzer window) show the status of and control the dedicated Finite-element calculator and postprocessor respectively.
  • The FE software (CalculiX) can run either natively on your Windows PC or in a virtual machine, which can be hosted on your local PC or anywhere else via intranet / internet. VirtualBox and native Windows packages will be released initially. CalculiX is free, open-source software and my repackaging of it will be available under the same terms.
  • The CalculiX Graphix postprocessor window (lower right of image) is fully interactive - allowing you to zoom, pan and orient the model as required - but also synchronized to the main SonoAnalyzer window for simple selection of vibration mode and display options (stresses / displacements / animation etc).
  • The capture button grabs whatever is currently displayed on the postprocessor screen (including animations) and saves it to a SonoAnalyzer tab for future reference or saving to file.
  • Axial modes are identified automatically and selected preferentially - it's no longer necessary to scroll through all the unwanted modes to find the one you want! Auto-tuning to a specified frequency is also enabled on Pro models.

Financial considerations:
For the benefit of early purchasers I'll be extending all annual subscriptions out to the final release date of SonoAnalyzer Pro. Early-bird prices will also be maintained until then.
Beta versions will initially be offered free-of-charge only to purchasers of SonoAnalyzer OE. They will be also be time-limited, expiring 60 days after release. However I will make new versions available at least monthly so that upgrades will always be available and clients who download a trial version will be assured of at least 30 days use. Beta versions and upgrades will be offered free until the release date.
A limited demo of some Pro capability will be added to the free SonoAnalyzer Demo after the release.

Announcement emails:
If you've purchased any SonoAnalyzer product or downloaded the demo version then your email will already be included in the list for occasional announcement messages. If not, feel free to do so now or use the contact page on powerultrasonics.com. (And in the event that you want to unsubscribe from these emails full details are included at the bottom of every one.)

Thanks for your patience!

Chris
